Not your typical Mother’s Day blog
Brennan Manning, in the Relentless Tenderness of Jesus, so wonderfully writes this about the unconditional love of Christ: His love is gratuitous in a way that defies our imagination. It is for this reason that we can proclaim with... -
He makes all things new
I crushed a little spirit this morning. Oh his face – the look on his beautiful eight-year old face told me everything I needed to know. I came down too hard. I crushed Cal’s spirit. Colossians 3:21... -

Welcome to Wholehearted Child
I'm so thankful you're here! I hope you'll stay for a while and share your story with me.
My name is Jeannie and I'm a mom who's simply had a glimpse of what God’s extravagant, unrelenting, and never-ceasing GRACE can do to a family. My prayer is that we'll discover even more of His grace together as we share our broken, messy, and fallen selves with one another here.
This is a place where we'll talk about what happens when we surrender our grip on perfection and performance, and we free fall into the arms of grace – a radical grace that proclaims, “BECAUSE OF JESUS, you are accepted, you are enough, you are forgiven, you are worthy, and you are unconditionally loved, JUST as you are.” And even better, we'll talk about how we, as parents, can translate this transformative message of grace and freedom to our kids.
Much of what we’ll explore will focus on early and middle childhood (because it’s never too early to tell our kids about the unconditional love of Jesus.) Then again, a lot of what we’ll explore here will be just as relevant and refreshing for own hearts as it will be for our kid’s hearts.
My sincere hope is that you'll always leave here not only inspired to parent a wholehearted child, but also reminded of Christ's unconditional and extravagant love for you!
